Urban Waterfall

The 23rd and Ely subway station in Queens has the makings of a tropical paradise today: a waterfall and steamy heat. At least I had on my rain boots on!

Brooklyn Accidental Tourist

My parents visited New York this past weekend and we took them on a water taxi tour around the city, Brooklyn, and Queens. This was my first time on the taxi boats because I usually ride the underground kind of ferry between boroughs. It is pretty easy, inexpensive and you get nice views from the rivers. Of course, it is also possible to get on the wrong boat and end-up heading to the Brooklyn Army Terminal instead of Water Taxi Beach in Queens. We weren’t alone in our mistake and as it turns out, it was probably the most photographic part of the trip! I shot two of these on that “mistake” and the other one at the beach when we finally got there. I’d say it was a happy mistake and my parents had a great trip too.
